So… you’ve booked your first Reformer Pilates class (or you’re thinking about it). Exciting! Maybe also a tiny bit nerve-wracking? Totally normal. We promise there’s nothing scary waiting for you. Only good vibes, supportive instructors, and a body that will thank you afterwards.

Here’s everything you need to know before you arrive, so you can step into the studio feeling calm, confident, and ready to move.

Before you arrive, make sure you’ve signed up for a membership or intro offer and booked onto a class. You can learn more about our class types here

Good news: You don’t need to buy lots of new things

Aside from yourself and a willingness to try something new, we recommend bringing:

  1. Water to keep yourself hydrated throughout the class.

  2. A pair of grippy socks, which help you feel stable and secure on the reformer. If you don’t have any, don’t worry, you can get some in the studio. And yes, the pair you got from AirHop will work perfectly too.

  3. Comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely.

We have plenty of free parking close to the entrance

No matter which studio you decide to visit, you’ll have plenty of free parking, so no need to stress about finding a spot! Free parking in Surrey? We know, it’s practically a miracle!

At our Guildford studio, park right outside the studio door on Clasford Farm, then head up the green stairs to reach the entrance.

At our Bramley studio, there are 4 spaces right in front of the studio. If those are full, don’t worry, there is plenty more in the main car park on Whipley Manor Farm (less than a minute’s walk away). Once you have parked, head into the main courtyard and you will see HKôre straight in front of you. Head through the main entrance arch in the middle of the building.

When you arrive, take your shoes off, leave coats, jumpers, and bags neatly to the side, and settle in while you wait for your class to start. Both studios have toilets available, so feel free to pop in beforehand.

Our class structure

What to expect in first Reformer Pilates Class
Our Bramley Studio

While no two classes are the same at HKôre, there are some things that you can expect, especially in your first class.

When you arrive, your instructor will introduce themselves and don’t be surprised if the people around you get chatting to you too! The instructor will also ask about any injuries, health conditions, or anything else we should know. This helps us tailor the class to you and ensures you feel safe and supported from the very first movement. You’ll have already provided this information when you booked, but it’s just a quick double-check in case anything has changed.

Next, your instructor will explain the springs, how they work, and all the different parts of the reformer. They’ll show you how to safely get on and off, so you can feel confident moving around. The reformers in our Guildford studio are wider and longer than a standard reformer, making them perfect for anyone who needs a little more space.

Once you’re settled, it’s time to experience the magic of the reformer. And if you’re lucky, your class might end with the wonderful feeling of “feet in straps”

Ready to come to your first Reformer Pilates class?

If you haven’t already, make sure you’ve signed up for a membership or an intro offer. Once that’s done, the easiest way to stay consistent, explore different classes, and see real progress is with a 2-weekly membership. It gives you flexibility, variety, and the consistency to see yourself improve.

Now all that’s left to do is choose your studio, pick a class on the timetable that suits your schedule, and get ready to step onto the reformer. We can’t wait to see you in the studio and show you just how fun Pilates can be!
