Everything you need to become a kickass Reformer Pilates instructor!

We are super excited to welcome Naomi from Fearless Fitness Training Academy back to HKôre on March 21, 22, 23, and April 25, 26, 27, 2025. Naomi has kindly written the blog below to give you all the info you need. 👇🏼 If you have a passion for Pilates or you're already a fitness instructor or dance teacher looking to add Reformer Pilates classes to your skillset, join me at HKôre in Guildford for an in-person training course.

You will learn:

  • The repertoire, aka what to teach

  • Cuing skills, aka how to get people to do the thing

  • Programming techniques, aka how to plan an awesome class

But more than that you'll learn how to use the Reformer so that every single person in your classes has the best experience possible. Most training courses don't even touch on this element which seems completely crazy to me! All bodies are different and working with springs is not the same as working with weights. Each body type will respond differently and as an instructor you need to know how to help each individual have a safe and effective workout - not just those who are within the 'average'.

Reformer Pilates is having a boom moment right now and it always pays off to be at the forefront of the industry trends and ride the wave!

After successfully completing this course you could work in a Reformer Pilates studio teaching group classes, you could set up your own studio and you could teach private clients in yours or their homes.

The course is part online (do it in your own time) and part in person with the live sessions taking place at the fabulous Hkore studios. Check the next training course dates here.

In between the two long weekends, you should practice teaching as much as possible, putting into practice everything you're learning and preparing for the assessments. Using a studio during off-peak times when it's empty is a great way to do this, and you could even consider purchasing your own Reformer to use at home.
